Meet The Artists Of SQ Horror Magazine

With just a couple weeks left before the May 1st release of the new SQ Horror Magazine, we’re going to introduce you to the amazing people making this possible!

First up are the artists creating all new, all original comic strips exclusive to SQ! Each one brings their own unique spin and flavor of horror to their respective comics. Incredibly talented, we are lucky to have these three along for the ride. If you like their work, seek them out! Each one is accepting commissions as well, so it’s your chance to get your very own piece of original artwork by masters of their craft!

Geo Brawn IV

Geo is bringing Killer Katie to SQ. Katie is a vampire just trying to make it in this topsy turvy world.

Freelance artist? Check. Podcast? Check. YouTube series? Check. Incredibly busy guy with virtually no freetime? Big checkaroo there.

Known for his cover art, Geo has racked up an impressive menagerie of pinups as well. Published his own comics, commissions galore, you can even support him on Patreon! Geo has such a huge volume of work that there is no possible way to list it all here, so here’s a condensed version. Linkstorm!

Arturo Louga

Arturo has put his considerable skills into a creepy strip called Beelzebub for SQ. Trust us when we say Arturo’s style lends itself beautifully to the macabre.

Arturo’s pieces have been featured all over the world. From newspapers in Mexico to features in museums and websites everywhere.  His pencils and inks truly stand alone. Even without color, Arturo’s work stands with the greats of the form! Then there’s his pinups, just wow. Go and check him out!

Rick Marcks

Rick is our most recent addition to the team! He’s putting together a fun one panel shot that’s reminiscent of Charles Addams.

Rick has made comics, and done commissioned pieces for many years. A small sampling of his work includes: The action thriller graphic novel, The Igniter. Rick has even done artwork for the RPG MotoBushido, from Pinnacle Entertainment. Look this summer for a Kickstarter for a creator owned scifi story titled Outroute 12 from Rick.

So there we go! This small article could not possibly cover the depth of these artists’ talents and breadth of diversity, so please take the time to check them out for yourselves! It will be worth your time.

Keep checking back in the next couple weeks as we work our way through the huge pool of talent here at SQ!

Thank you for reading!

  1. We are a bunch of volunteers and starting a brand new
scheme in our community. Your site offered us with useful information to work on. You have done an impressive
task and our entire community will be grateful to you.

  2. We absolutely love your blog and find almost all of your post’s to
be what precisely I’m looking for. Does one offer guest writers to write
content for yourself? I wouldn’t mind composing a post or elaborating on a number of the subjects you
write about here. Again, awesome weblog!

  3. Right here is the right web site for anyone who wants to understand this topic.
You realize so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I personally will need
to…HaHa). You certainly put a fresh spin on a topic that has
been written about for a long time. Wonderful stuff, just wonderful!
